TSA Ideas Lab / bo-art projects are pleased to formally announce the genre-bending book ‘tracings of time and place’ on the work of Nigerian-German artist Ngozi Ajah Schommers.

‘tracings of time and place’ (2023) presents and examines the critical themes, materials and techniques in Schommers’ work since she began her studio practice fifteen years ago. Schommers’ practice is grounded in a decolonial and African understanding of the world. Her work spans drawing, installation, painting, sculpture, photography and performance, and she typically explores subjects related to women, Igbo hair heritage and migrating issues to expose and deconstruct stereotypes.

The book features essays and texts written by art scholars, critics and curators who have previously worked with Schommers.
